Relay Information for 2007

Last year was the inaugural year for the DMTM Relay. We will again host a five leg race (5 members on each team) with the longest leg at 8.2 miles and the shortest at 4.1 miles.

The distances from the start:

8.2 miles to the cyanide shack
4.9 miles to the half marathon start
4.5 miles to the Englewood Trailhead
4.1 miles to the Kirk Trailhead
4.2 miles to the Finish line

(These distances are rounded down and .3 is buried among the 5 legs...)

The Relay will feature six categories; Male, Female, COED, Youth, Corporate and Military. Each category will have awards presented to the fastest teams and maybe a special award or two for the more “creative” teams.

TEAM CAPTAINS:
Must register entire team during registration or login with user account and select TEAM ROSTER MANAGEMENT from your athlete home page to update teams.

The Relay "baton" will be a chip that must be on a velcro strap and worn around ankle while running and exchanged between runners within the relay exchange zone.

Teams are responsible for the transportation of their runners to relay exchange stations. Runner doing the first leg can either ride the bus provided for other full marathon runners from Deadwood to the Start Line, or the Team can drop their first runner in Rochford at the Start Line. If you choose to take your runner to the Start Line, you MUST be out of Rochford (Start Line) no later than 7:15 AM and on your way to Relay Exchange #1 at the Cyanide Shack.
